The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a humanitarian youth wing of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) aimed at students aged 18–25. It promotes health, hygiene, and community service through voluntary action.
Core activities include blood donation camps, first-aid training, disaster relief, and social awareness campaigns.
Objective: To foster a spirit of service, health, and friendship among youth while developing leadership skills.
Core Principles: The movement is based on seven fundamental principles: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality.
Key Activities: Health & Hygiene: Organizing blood donation, medical, and awareness camps. Community Service: Engaging in clean school/village campaigns and disaster relief. Training: Offering first-aid training to volunteers.
Structure: It operates as a voluntary movement, often within colleges, guided by a Programme Officer.
